The Walnut Trails leaves FSR 428 (Hardscrabble Road) directly across from the Pine-Strawberry Trail 15 entrance.

The Walnut Trail is more of a hiking trail as it follows a rocky drain downhill as it makes its way to the Oak Springs intersection approximately 2 miles down the trail.

Walnut Trail is known for colors in the fall and old growth walnut trees.. This currently offers rugged hike through some incredibly beautiful terrain.
