You will pass through tall pines, then a juniper forest, while the east end of the trail takes you above an alluvial fan and incorporates some spectacular views.
Continue on the Pine View Trail or take the original Lower Pine View for a nice return loop, which trims the round trip mileage to 2.8 miles.
