General Crook National Recreation Trail
We will be working on the General Crook National Recreation Trail in the Coconino National Forest.
Plan to meet in the parking lot in front of the Ponderosa Market on Highway 87 in Pine at 8:00 AM both days. From there, we will carpool in vehicles with high ground clearance, and drive to the General Springs Cabin on Rim Road FR300.
On Friday, we will continue the ongoing work to rehabilitate the Crook Trail, working eastward along the Trail to clear the path and build cairns (rock piles) to better identify the Trail. Volunteers should bring their own food and drinks, as well as rain gear, sturdy boots, and gloves. Work tools will be provided. We plan to work until about 3 PM. We will then drive back to Pine.
Before disbanding Friday, we will make specific work plans for Saturday, depending on how many volunteers we expect on Saturday. For more information, please contact Ed Furtaw: firstname.lastname@example.org.
