Firewise Day 2018 is scheduled for May 19th, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Ramada and Cultural Hall in Pine.
You can expect much that is Free, Free, Free!
Sponsored by Farm Bureau Financial Services, a lunch of pulled smoked pork sandwiches, potato chips and a pickle is provided to all attendees who bring five cans of food for donation to the P/S Food Bank.
Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each toward a winning prize of a property clearing by a professional at no cost to the homeowner. The winning ticket will drawn at the end of the event.
Clowns! Trucks! Speakers!
Again for 2018 the Pine Strawberry Fire Department Clowns will be on hand to teach children how to be fire safe.
There will be vehicles from state and county agencies that children can explore.
Tonto Rim Search and Rescue will have a drone display.
Our theme this year is Communication, including topics such as the Ever Bridge Program. We are working on bring several speakers to Firewise day but we know for sure that Chief Gary Morris will speak (if we don’t have a fire).
The Gila County communications unit will be on site as well as the PSFR FireWise trailer, and we hope to have animals again (snakes!).
