The Mountain Bike Association of Arizona (MBAA) chose Pine Strawberry to receive $5000 for trail construction costs - the end result of which will be 14 miles of trail suitable for beginner to intermediate mountain biking.


  

The grant for brush Collection has been received and the crew began picking up on Thursday Dec. 8, 2011.

We wish to thank all residents for their patience during this prolonged period while the state and federal authorities made their determinations of our eligibility for further funding.

Pine resident Betsy Porter won the Golf Foursome donated by Chaparral Pines Golf Club valued at $500.00. Here she is receiving her gift certificate from co-chair of the Fire on the Rim mountain bike race Katie Calderon. Betsy was a raffle winner from the Fire on the Rim Race held in 2011. The race in 2012 is going to be full of prizes like this and more.

 

The regular monthly meeting of the PSFR group will be held on the last Wednesday each month; the next date is on Jan 25, 2012. The time is 6:00 PM.  Thanks for your participation.

  
The PSFR group has finally obtained their new trailer for FireWise education.
The graphics are in place, it has been placed in service,
 appearing in multiple locations around Tonto National Forest to educate homeowners on how to protect their homes from devastating wildfires.

The Fuel Reduction Committee is not responsible for scheduling the crew that collects the brush piles. Contact the PSFD Chief David Staub for questions regarding that.

This past Spring, much of the firebreak around our community had grass seed spread over it and it has sprouted and will be providing us with a defensible space where firefighters can efficiently protect our homes.
 

 
 
 
 
 

 

The PS Fire Dept now has updated Medical Information Emergency Responders Cards in the Pine Station to replace the old Vials for life information.

 

Please stop by and pickup your free card to help them access your emergency information in the event they have to provide medical assistance in your home.

Please POST this card on your refrigerator for immediate access in the event of an emergency.

  • MAKE SURE YOUR PILE IS NOT TOO LARGE
  • PREPARE YOUR PILES BY CUTTING A CLEAR FIRE RING
  • A HOSE MUST BE AVAILABLE IN YOUR BURN AREA
  • FIRES MUST BE ATTENDED
  • BURNING TRASH PR0HIBITED
  • BURN BARRELS PROHIBITED
  • BURN TIMES 9:00 A.M.   - 3:00 P.M.
  • NON WINDY AND WEATHER PERMITTING DAYS ONLY
