Becoming Fire Wise

Pine and Strawberry community members are working hard to make our entire community Fire-Wise. Much has been done and effort is still being put forth to remove the excess brush and trees that could put us all at risk in the event of a major wildfire.

On May 22, 2010, the Portals 1 & 2 HOA was awarded by the Arizona State Forestry Division for bringing their subdivision into compliance with guidelines set forth for Fire Wise communities. Following are photos of the award ceremony as well as before-and-after photos of the work they accomplished.

This is how nice it looks now, making the homes defensible in the event of a fire.
